Buyer-Initiated Payment

While buyers traditionally use p-cards to make small-dollar purchases, many card networks offer a service called Buyer-Initiated Payment that makes cards more attractive for big-ticket items. Features of a BIP program include:

  • Suppliers are paid without access to the buyer's card account number

  • Buyers maintain the controls of their traditional purchase order and invoice approval process

  • Buyers accelerate cash to suppliers without impacting their own days payable outstanding

To learn more about the benefits of buyer-initiated payment, be sure to sign up for TAPC's upcoming no-cost webinar, Growing Your P-card Program with BIP & e-Invoicing, featuring Tracy Bryant, AP Manager of Mohawk Industries, Henry Ijams, Managing Director of PayStream Advisors, and Daron Whisman, Director of Finance with Memorial Hermann.
