Accounts Payable Week is Coming!
The most important date on the accounts payable calendar is only two weeks away! Accounts Payable Week is a time when managers celebrate their team's accomplishments and let the rest of the organization know the true value of AP.

Accounts Payable Week is Oct. 17-21. It's time to start planning! This issue features possible ideas for celebrating Accounts Payable Week in your organization.

Accounts Payable Week
With Accounts Payable Week right around the corner, many managers may be at a loss for what to do. Fortunately, there are activities that can work for departments of any size.

See Celebrate Accounts Payable Week on TAPC.

Motivating Staff

While Accounts Payable Week is a lot of fun, keeping your team motivated requires thinking beyond a single week. Strategies for keeping your departments energized well beyond AP Week include:

  • Training: Improve your team members' skills. Their time in AP is part of a career, not just a job.

  • Competing: Turn processing goals into competitions – complete with small prizes.

  • Certifying: Demonstrate your organization's commitment to quality and developing employee skills.

  • Celebrate success: Whenever the team reaches an important goal, do something special, such as have an ice cream party, go out to a movie, or treat the team to lunch.

For more about how to ensure your team is engaged and motivated, check out the TAPN audio conference recording, Field-Tested Secrets to Motivate, Encourage and Lead Your AP Staff, featuring Judy Bicking, APM, AP Best Practice Consultant, Former Global Director, Accounts Payable European Project, Johnson & Johnson. Earns 1 CEU.
