Improve Employee Engagement
|
Let me apologize in advance for the following cliché: an organization's most valuable asset is its people. Perhaps the phrase is only a cliché because it's true.
If your accounts payable staff isn't motivated, then their work – and your organization's bottom line – is going to suffer. This issue features information to help ensure your staff is engaged and productive. |

Is Your Staff De-motivated? |
Working in AP can feel like a thankless job sometimes. Whenever an invoice isn't paid on time, the first response is often to blame the AP department, which can negatively impact morale.
Register for The Accounts Payable Network's upcoming audio conference, Field-tested Secrets to Motivate, Encourage, and Lead Your AP Staff, featuring Judy Bicking, APM, AP Best Practice Consultant, Former Global Director, Accounts Payable European Project, Johnson & Johnson.
Motivating your staff starts with you. As a manager, it is your responsibility to ensure your employees are productive while avoiding job burnout. To determine how motivated your staff is, ask yourself the following questions:
- Is there good teamwork among your staff?
- Do they volunteer for more responsibilities?
- Who is your customer? Do they blame AP for everything?
Once you know how your employees are thinking, you can develop strategies for motivating them. Also check out Tom Nichols' recent blog post on Motivating Employees.
