Travel and entertainment reimbursements are a significant portion of many AP departments' operations. This week's issue features a new T&E benchmark survey, giving you an opportunity to contribute to and learn from your peers.
In addition, this issue features the return of Tom Nichols' blog. Be sure to post a comment welcoming him back. And, if you're curious about the cleaning power of fish, check out this week's Just for Fun section. |

T&E Benchmark Survey |
The latest The Accounts Payable Network benchmarking survey, 2008 T&E Reporting Reimbursement Benchmark Survey, is underway and you are invited to participate.
According to the latest available T&E benchmarking data gathered in December 2006, 91 percent of AP departments reported that they are responsible for processing travel and entertainment expense reimbursement for their organizations. Other findings from the previous report include:
- 89 percent of all T&E operations are centralized
- 48 percent of companies still use cash advances for some expenses
- A majority of companies audit 100 percent of their T&E receipts
To find out how much difference 18 months can make, be sure to participate in this year's T&E Reporting Reimbursement Benchmark Survey. All participants receive a complimentary copy of the published results once the data is analyzed. The survey is open to all TAPN members and nonmembers. Someone knowledgeable of their organization's processes can complete the survey in about 10 minutes.
Note: Participants who hold APM and APS certification earn 1 CEU for completing this survey.
