Is Cutting Paper Like Pulling Teeth?
|
Countless benchmarking surveys from The Accounts Payable Network and other sources confirm what everyone already knows: AP departments know that going paperless is a good idea, but most still have a long way to go.
This issue examines why organizations are reluctant to automate their AP processes and helps them overcome many of these hurdles.

Getting to 100% Paperless |
Many departments implement technologies like e-invoicing with the goal of becoming 100 percent paperless. However, reaching that milestone is a challenge that actually requires multiple technologies working together (and even then may not be truly attainable). Strategies include:
- Putting an e-invoicing system in place and then an imaging system to capture the remaining paper.
- Working with the purchasing department to promote e-invoicing on new vendor contracts.
- Implementing an imaging system with optical character recognition to reduce manual keying on your remaining paper volumes.
For more on using technology to cut paper, sign up for the upcoming no-cost webinar, Paperless ERP for Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP and More, featuring Doug Bertram, Regional Manager, Metafile Information Systems. The session earns 1 CEU.

Just for Fun! |
Now that springtime's mixture of sun and rain is here, there is no doubt that lawn-mowing season is back. Of course, that doesn't mean you should steal the industrial-powered mower from your local high school. See Man Takes Stolen Lawnmower on Drunken Joyride.
